While you go buzzing here and there,

God knows where,

Stop for a while to rest,

Do not be a pest!

All this frantic running,

With one for the other gunning,

Will you nowhere land,

Life will slip through like quick sand!

While you crazily to nowhere run,

The beauty of life you shun,

And the art of doing nothing you lose,

That is how you cook your own goose!

In the womb of nothingness lies the essence,

There resides the Primal Cause and Presence!

बाईस तईस कुछ नहीं,

नया पुराना कुछ नहीं,

समय तो एक सतत प्रवाह है,

नयी हो सकती है हमारी सोच,

एक नया दृष्टिकोण,

जीने का एक नया अन्दाज़,

नए गंतव्यों की ओर बढ़ जाने की चाह,

मन की एक नयी लहर, एक नयी मौज,

पुराने जाल में फँसे रहे,

वही पुरानी सोच, पुराने मापदंड,

वही पुरानी ऊब भरी ज़िंदगी,

वही पुराने थके हुए रिश्ते,

वही हालातों से पुरानी लड़ाई,

तो नए साल का क्या अभिप्राय,

क्या उल्लास, क्या उत्सव,

अगर अंदर कुछ नहीं बदला,

तो यह उत्सव भी एक बेमानी रीत ही है,

नया-नया कह मन को बहलाते,

जबकि जीवन में नया कुछ भी तो नहीं,

जब खा पी, गा, नाच, लकीर के फ़क़ीर,

नए साल का करें शोरोगुल से स्वागत,

तो यह सोचें अवश्य कि नया क्या है

अगर उसी घिसी-पिटी ज़िंदगी में

लौट जाना है कल कोल्हू के बैल बन,

तो जश्न किस बात का, किस बात का नृत्य,

जीवन तो वह है जो हो नित नया,

लाये नयी चेतना, नयी ऊर्जा,

विहंगम दृश्यों को दर्शाते

चित के नये पट खोल दे,

फिर हर पल नया पल,

हर दिन नया साल,

जीवन ही बन जाए उत्सव!

प्रकाश फैलाए नव वर्ष

हर ओर हो उल्लास और हर्ष,

सत्य की गुंजार हो,

प्रेम पथ विस्तार हो,

स्नेह का डंका बजे,

वैर भाव हर कोई तजे,

चरित्र का जीर्णोद्धार हो,

हर उच्च स्वप्न साकार हो,

मंगलदायिनी यह धरा,

दूर हों जर और जरा,

युद्धों का तांडव बंद हो,

सुदृष्टि पाएँ जो अंध हों,

धरती के घाव जो हैं हरे,

हर एक मानव उन्हें भरे,

हो निर्भय निर्वैर आगे बढ़ें

किसी आततायी से न डरें,

आत्म-कल्याण का खुले द्वार,

जीवन मूल्यों पर हो विचार,

नव वर्ष की यह मंगल बेला,

सद्कर्मों का लग जाए मेला,

जड़-चेतन का कल्याण हो,

गौरव का संज्ञान हो!

तुझ में, मुझ में,

रहता है वो,

निर्लेप है वो

न उसे कोई मोह,

योगी का योग,

भोगी का भोग,

कर्ता का कर्म,

मातृ का मर्म,

साधक की साधना,

भक्त की आराधना,

ज्ञानी का ज्ञान,

ऋषि का निर्वाण,

सर्वत्र वह बसता,

सब के दुःख हरता,

ज्ञानी का वह वाद,

अनंत का है नाद,

उस नाद को सुने कौन?

स्वयं को जो जाने गौण!

Learn to live light,

Do not hold anything tight,

Do not to anything cling,

If you do not want it your heart to wring,

Be a spirit that is free flowing,

If you want to be buoyant and glowing,

Be a butterfly that with ease from flower to flower flits,

See how lightly on every blossom it sits

And gathers into its fold the ambrosial honey,

And so makes the most of a day bright and sunny,

Tread ever so softly on the bounteous earth

That is your plentiful home and hearth,

When you go, leave behind footprints light,

That will be a going so gracious and right!

कड़वे घूँट पी लिए बहुत,

चलिए, कुछ मीठा हो जाये,

टेढ़ी-मेढ़ी ज़िंदगी जी ली बहुत,

अब कुछ सीधा हो जाए,

बहुत लगा लिए दांव-पेच,

अब मोहब्बत से दिल जीते जाएँ,

झूठ फ़रेब हो गया बहुत,

अब सच का दामन पकड़ा जाए,

तिकड़में लगा के भी क्या पाया,

अब भोले संत बना जाए,

अहम की खेती कर ली बहुत,

अब नम्रता का बीज बोया जाए,

अपेक्षाओं का घड़ा भर लिया पूरा,

अब समर्पण भाव से जिया जाए,

थक गए पाप की गठड़ी को ढोते-ढोते,

अब पुण्यता को मानक बना जिया जाए,

विनाश का तांडव हम सब देख रहे,

क्यों न सृजन की ओर मुख किया जाए?

बहरों की इस दुनिया में कौन सुनेगा तुम्हारे गीत,

पत्थर दिल इंसानों में कौन बनेगा तुम्हारा मीत,

चिलचिलाती इस धूप में कौन बनेना तुम्हारी छाँव,

सहरा की इस गरम रेत में कहाँ टिकेंगे तुम्हारे पाँव,

शोरोगुल के इस जंगल में कौन सुनेगा तुम्हारी तान,

कौन समझेगा मोल तुम्हारा चाहे हो तुम गुणों की खान,

तुम्हारे रिसते ज़ख्मों पे मरहम कौन लगाएगा,

बुझते हुए तुम्हारे दिल में शमा कौन जलायेगा,

मद्धम पड़ती इन साँसों में कौन फूँकेगा फिर से जान,

ख़ुदगर्ज़ी के इस आलम में कौन बढ़ाएगा तुम्हारा मान,

कौन समेटेगा तुम्हें जब रेशा-रेशा तुम बिखरोगे,

सूख गये इस गुलिस्ताँ में कैसे तुम अब निखरोगे,

किसे तवक्को थी इस दुनिया की जिसमे आज हम जी रहे,

किसे खबर है कैसे यह ज़हर का प्याला पी रहे,

कैसा अजब यह आलम है यह ख़ुदा ही जाने,

जहां विरला कोई किसी को समझे, कुछ है माने!

When the going gets tough,

When you hit a patch that is rough,

Your friends will be there to pull you through,

Of loving support they will offer a rich brew,

When darkness does your life envelope and mar,

They will be your guiding star,

When people for your pound of flesh bay,

They will out of the terrible mess find you a way,

They will always be your anchor,

As they never can hold against you any rancour,

They are God’s grace manifest on the earth,

Of their love for you there will never be any dearth,

Does it ever gratefully to you occur

That they are your real strength and succour,

In the turbulent sea of life they are your buoys,

They will never confront you with any whats and whys,

Their boundless love is yours for the asking,

So in their warm and cosy light keep basking,

Thank God for these guardian angels in your life

Which otherwise with umpteen troubles is rife,

Keep them pressed close to your heart

Because they accept you with your every quirk and wart,

There is really none who can them replace,

Your great good fortune to their glowing presence you can trace!

चल चला चल, चल चला चल,

मत सोच क्या हुआ था कल,

मत चिंता कर क्या होगा कल,

जीवन चलने का है नाम,

रुकने का नहीं कोई काम,

रुकना मरना एक बराबर,

निष्क्रियता है घोर हलाहल,

न करो तुम यह विषपान,

राह तकते नये सोपान,

नए अंबर आवाहन करते,

तुम अपने साहस का दम भरते,

कर्मठता का कवच पहनकर,

विषमताओं का भार वहन कर,

दृढ़ निश्चय को बनाओ ढाल,

नहीं होगा तुम्हारा बाँका बाल,

रणबाँकुरों की भाँति कूदो रण में,

न गति तुम्हारी छुपकर वन में,

विषम चुनौतियों को गले लगाओ,

प्रभु कृपा से विजय उनपर पाओ,

शुभ कर्मों से होगा तृप्त हृदय,

उच्च कर्मों से होगा भाग्य उदय!

जो न करता अध्ययन चिंतन,

जो न करता मन का मंथन,

सत्य-असत्य वह देख न पाए,

विषय-विकार उसे भरमायें,

अंतर्मन की जो गिरह न खोले,

अहंकार उसका सिर चढ़ कर बोले,

सुपथ से वह होता भ्रमित,

वासनाओं से वह रहता ग्रसित,

स्व-मोह का फंदा उसे जकड़े,

भीतर के असुर रहें उसे पकड़े,

अमोलक जीवन वह व्यर्थ गवाँए,

कौन उसे क्या-क्या समझाए,

मूढ़-मति की होती यही गति,

केवल प्रभु दे सकते उसे सुमति,

प्रभु कृपा है जहां बरसे,

तहाँ जड़मती होत सुजान,

प्रभु अनुकंपा माँगिये मन से,

सो कह गये संत- विद्वान!
