A nip in the air,

Oh! how you love such weather fair!

The lazy caress of a spring morning breeze,

Oh! how you love emerging unscathed from the winter freeze!

Flowers after gay flowers to you opening their arms,

The ethereal sight really the cockles of your heart warms!

As you rush out to embrace rejuvenated nature with in your step a spring,

Doesn’t the transience of it all your heart wring?

But then take it or leave it, this is life,

With ever passing images it is rife!

Only this moment is there for you to grasp,

Only the now is there for you to savour and clasp,

Tugging at your heart, this of life is the story,

It is ironically the truth eternal and hoary!

Only this moment is yours to live,

To this glorious season all that you have give!

Every day is a Women’ Day,

They are the ones who keep much negativity at bay,

They are the ones who this world drive,

Because of them we come into this world and thrive,

We have every need to be beholden

To their monumental courage and heart golden,

None can a child like a mother nurture,

She guards it against every lurking vulture,

In a so-called man’s world, men have been spoilt silly,

So you see them cause destruction and mayhem willy nilly,

Their macho delusions will not let them rest,

So many times they behave like a pest,

Women need to flower and hold the centre stage

If we want more peace and love and less violence and rage,

They need to come to the fore,

Wave their magic wands,

And display their well-meaning strength by a show of hands,

If we wish for more of tranquil progress and less of gore!

Those who wish to sing

Always find a song,

Those who stick to the right path,

Seldom go wrong,

Those who reach out to the stars

Will transcend all petty wars,

Those who wish to win hearts

Will of their own outgrow all warts,

Those who wish to justly scale new heights,

Will always be mindful of others’ rights,

Those who are all for peace

Are the ones who will give the life of humanity a new lease,

Those who are for the right ready to suffer,

Will always be between good and bad a buffer,

Those, who believe in moving,

Will always be to the rhythm of life grooving,

Those, who do not to timidity yield,

Will, regardless of the price, always take the field,

Those who every moment of life savour

Will live it up and win everyone’s favour,

Whatever in its pot life may brew,

What you will yourself to do comes true,

Your good intent and will are in your crown the jewel,

They are the ones which the engine of your life fuel!

Whatever your age,

Against the passage of time do not rage,

Do not imprison yourself into any mental cage!

Do not be dull, cynical and dry,

Let your dreams to ever new heights fly,

Drink the nectar of life to your heart’s fill,

To do ever new things your mind will,

Get set to climb new hills,

Be in step with life’s rigorous drills,

Life with open arms embrace,

To live well invoke God’s grace,

With beautiful colours the canvas of your life paint,

Remember that in living a full life there is no taint,

Let your free spirit take charge,

Into new adventures with renewed vigour barge,

Write something inspiring and memorable on every page,

You live in me and I in you,

That is what we all do,

Separateness is just an illusion,

The truth lies in cosmic fusion,

When you bleed, I also bleed,

All our pathways to the same end lead,

When you laugh, I too go starry-eyed,

When you go loving, my own love I can not hide,

When you are excited, I too get goose bumps,

When you are melancholy, I am also down in the dumps,

Like conjoined twins are we all,

Any barrier between us is an illusory wall,

We are all the inseparable drops of the cosmic ocean,

We are all together a part of the universal motion,

If at my plight you have ever mischievously winked,

It was because you forgot that our destinies are inextricably linked,

That together we swim or sink

Is cast in stone and written in indelible ink!

Whenever life knocks you down,

Get back on your feet and fight,

Whenever the downs of life at you frown,

Stare them down and of them make light!

Whenever the blows of life hit you hard,

Lick your wounds till they heal,

Against all things that can pull you down you need to guard,

As it is a question of your well-being and weal!

Do not give up whatever it takes,

Do not throw in the towel or mope,

It is unbounded courage which of you a real person makes,

It is your tenacity for life that makes up hope!

In life you get back what you give,

Take the punches of life in your stride,

This is the only brave way to live,

Let this rugged perspective be your beacon and guide!

Give off your best,

Prove your worth,

Of potential in you there is no dearth,

Despite everything, prove your mettle,

Let no downs of life your nettle,

Aim for the sky,

With the stars vie,

Get set for the battle,

Let no seeming imponderables you rattle,

Do not ever despair,

For the long haul yourself prepare,

Give it all that it takes,

That is what a brave person makes,

Make the impossible come true,

Soar into the skies clear and blue,

Of every moment soak in the essence,

Let that essence be your prism and your lens

To look at the rainbow colours spread far and wide

Do not look up,

With the devil sup!

Put blinkers on your eyes

Lest the searing light of truth make you wise!

Tuck yourself into your cosy bed,

A bunch of blatant lies wed,

So that a life of delusion you may live,

And to truth and justice no credence give!

Put on your blindfolds and flounder through the dark,

Let those talking of goodness up the wrong tree bark,

Ride the demons of hate and greed,

Let falsehood be your credo and creed,

Dance to the frenzied music of lust

Till you just decay and go bust!

Let it be a wake up call and a well-meaning taunt,

Search your soul to see if this is the life you want!

We have all become glib talkers,

But do we walk the talk?

If we along the path of right are walkers,

Why at the sight of our conscience do we baulk?

Since we do not mean what we say,

Our words also just ring hollow,

We can inspire no one by our way

Because what we say even we do not follow!

As we are all chips off the same block,

To each other for false comfort do we flock,

Our hollow words to hollow minds reach out,

And thus we all around sow the seeds of disquiet and doubt!

As this vast spiritual wasteland before us stretches out,

And we pave the way to our complete moral rout,

Where for our salvation do we go,

How do we again the seeds of truth and integrity sow?

While a deep crisis of values around us is rife,

The answer to this seminal question will determine the course of our collective future life!

Love makes the world go wow,

Before it even the mightiest bow,

It is the silken thread that binds us all,

It is what you get from your every dear pal,

It is the sun that dispels the gloom of hate,

That is why we it so very high rate,

It is the rejuvenating rain to a parched land,

It uplifts our soul when it waves its magic wand,

It casts its soothing spell on us all,

It has the power to break down of hate the strongest wall,

It is the doting caressing mother to a small child,

It has the strength to tame even the impossibly wild,

It is a warm warm embrace on a bitter cold night,

It is what can set things gone horribly wrong right,

It is the force that holds the whole creation together,

It is the finest and the brightest conceivable weather!

So to love one and all is our sacred duty,

Therein lies of our existence the greatest beauty!

So do not your cold lonely furrow plough,

Freely give and receive the blessing of love wherever you go!

If you wish to put an end to every conceivable row,

Today is the day to take of profound love the vow!

Live to love and love to live,

The precious gift of unquestioning love to every being give!
