Your vibes say it all,

Good vibes make you stand tall!

They come from the goodness of your being,

They emanate from a positive way of seeing,

Your aura says a lot about you,

It is reflective of what you think and do,

It is a barometer of what you are deep inside,

It tells the story of what lives inside or has died,

It goes with you wherever you go,

It can repel others or make them before you bow,

It can transport those in your vicinity to a blissful place,

It can speak to them of the immense beauty of life and of grace,

Or it can set off in others disquiet and turmoil,

And bring even peacable things to a boil!

Who you are your vibes proclaim loud and clear,

They go awry when you are bogged down by hate and fear,

The gaping wounds in your soul can beat your aura down,

They can make those around you squirm and frown!

Heal yourself and stay good and calm,

And see for yourself and others your aura working as a balm!

Start with a noble goal from a good place,

All unworthy thoughts from your mind erase,

Go the whole hog for a worthy place under the sun,

And see your success as a deal sealed and done!

As you move forward, lend others a helping hand,

Their blessings will become your magic wand,

When on the go, see of life the immense possibilities roll out,

Embrace them with gusto and without any doubt,

See your consciousness expand and grow

And divinity light up your brow,

Light the lamp of love with tenderness and care,

Take up the gauntlet when creeping vices try to ensnare you and you dare,

Nature will give you the strength to overstep every pitfall

And valiantly face those who to challenge your good deeds have the gall!

As the sacred temple bells in the hallowed precincts of your mind ring,

Just go and let your unfettered spirit take wing!

They are indubitably worth their weight in gold!

They wave their magic wands,

They transport to you to far away exciting lands,

Llike nothing else do they your spirit uplift,

Their rewards are substantial and swift!

To the glowing paths of wisdom do they you beckon,

They are like glow worms in the dark,

They help open your inner eye,

There is hardly any companion that with them can vie!

The insights of great minds they offer you on a platter,

They are the receptacles of an amazing treasure of grey matter!

Those who holds books dear,

A thinking hat do they wear,

Those who themselves with books surround,

Their beings become certainly rich and profound!

Our present day disconnect with books will cost us dear,

This is an outcome we should certainly fear!

तय कर ऊँचे आयाम,

न कर तूँ आराम,

नयी मंज़िलों की ओर बढ़ता जा,

नए सबक़ तूँ पढ़ता जा,

नए इरादे, नीयत नेक,

दोनों मानो हों ज्यों एक,

लम्बे ज़िंदगी के ये रास्ते,

बाहें फैलाए खड़े तेरे वास्ते,

बढ़ आगे, न रुक, न डर,

हर मुश्किल को पार कर,

हर चुनौती को इक मौक़ा मान,

अपने अख़लाक़ का इम्तहान जान,

हिम्मत रख, न हो ख़ौफ़ज़दा,

देख, कामयाबी तुझे देती सदा,

शिकस्त पर न गौर कर ,

यूँ मौत से पहले न मर,

हर खेत की बन तूँ बाड़,

इंसानियत के नए मील पत्थर गाढ़,

कर तूँ कुछ ऐसा कमाल,

रूखसती पे न हो कोई मलाल,

बन तूँ इक ऐसी मिसाल

रूहानी हो जिसका जलाल!

A mother and her children are just one,

That is surely a deal done!

They have grown out of the mother,

So like it there is no relation other,

The heartbeats of mother and children have been so much in sync,

There is between them such an organic link

That you wonder at the marvels of nature

And know why this bond has its unique stature!

In their form a miracle the mother has unfolded,

So much her own life according to their needs she has moulded

That it leaves you wondering how mothers do it with such elan

Without much preparation and without any conscious plan!

Hope children realise what a treasure trove they have in their mother,

That there neither is nor going to be like her any other!

And may mothers raise their offspring, their own extensions, into beings so full of grace

That of any negativity or distortion they do not have even the faintest trace!

जो बीत गया सो बीत गया,

अब उससे लेना देना क्या?

जो गुज़र गए दिन और रातें,

क्यों करता है आज उन की बातें?

छुट गए हैं सदा के लिए पीछे जो रास्ते,

क्यों भरता है आहें उनके वास्ते?

जिस पथ पर अब खड़ा, उस पर अपनी नज़र गढ़ा,

इस पल से, याद रख, कुछ भी नहीं है बड़ा,

इस पल में ही है सारा जीवन समाया,

जिसने इसे निःसंकोच है गले लगाया,

उसने इस सागर से चुने हैं नायाब मोती,

ऐसे इंसान की क़िस्मत कभी न सोती,

बीती बातों का न वह कभी बोझ ढोता,

आगे की व्यर्थ चिंताओं को ले न अपना संतुलन खोता,

वर्तमान पल को दे देता वह अपना सर्वस्व,

उसी में ढूँढता और पाता वह अपना वर्चस्व,

समय की धारा में बहता है जो रमता योगी,

जीवन उसी का है सार्थक, जय उसी की होगी!

Let the Lohri fires burn bright,

Let them show us the way right,

Let them light up our being,

Let them bless us with a whole new way of seeing,

Let them burn away our mad runaway desires,

Let us be chastened and purified by these glowing Lohri fires,

As the embers of these fires towards the sky race,

Let them our wisdom awaken and let it gather pace,

As these fires illumine the whole landscape,

Let them burn away all that is disingenuous and fake!

Let them consume all the injustice and hatred in the air

So that what remains is simply just and fair,

Let them take away all the sickness that pervades

Through which the suffering humanity stumbles and wades,

Let them usher in an era of love, togetherness and peace,

Let them us out of our heartlessness, arrogance and worse tease!

Let the Lohri fires burn bright,

Let them show us the way right!

When things have to go wrong, they will,

So do not fret, take a chill pill!

When things go wrong as they will,

The cup of your courage to the brim fill,

And get ready to set things right

As valorous people do not run away from a worthy fight!

Let your steely determination take a position pole,

And once again you will bounce back and be on a roll!

When against adverse circumstances are you in the fray,

Let your unshakeable will hold sway,

Let your tenacity and persistence come to the fore,

Endowed with such qualities, can you ask for anything more?

Let no obstacles you deter,

Let no challenges you fetter,

You have it in you to brave adversities and come out on the top,

Why then throw up your hands in despair and mop?

Cast in the image of God as you are, realise your worth,

Of the arsenal to fight and bounce back you have no dearth!

इस पल से बंधी हमारी आस,

इस पल में ही है जीवन का वास,

यही पल तो है जो हमारा है,

इसे गँवाना नहीं हमें गवारा है,

इस पल से बंधी है जीवन की डोर,

किसने देखी है कल की भोर ?

इस पल में बसती है हमारी जान,

यही पल है हमारे जीवन की खान,

यही पल है हमारे जीवन की लौ,

किसी क़ीमत पर न दें हम इस को खो!

इस पल में ही है धरा सब कुछ,

इस के आगे है सब कुछ तुच्छ,

यही पल कर सकता है हमारे सपने साकार,

यही दे सकता है जीवन को हमारे इच्छित आकार,

इससे पहले कि मौत ले हमें अपनी चादर में लपेट,

इस पल को आओ अपनी बाहों में लें समेट,

जी लें इसे शिद्दत से अपनी आँखों में भर,

ताकि जब आख़िरी वक़्त आए तो न कोई हसरत हो न डर!

Let your soul dance and rejoice!

With the swaying winds sway,

Across the maze of life find your joyous way!

With the birds high in the sky soar,

Can you ask for anything more?

Groove to the rhythmic pitter patter of rain,

Why should you let gloom your energy drain?

The canvas of life with breathtaking colours fill,

Let your life be a happy gurgling rill!

In your myriad blessings find the fount of joy,

Why with the idea of giving up on life ever toy?

Every moment the liberation of your spirit celebrate,

Let that celebration be spontaneous, nothing deliberate!

Gyrate with the cosmic pulse in sync,

See yourself in the larger design as a vital blessed link!
