Love is a many-splendored flower,
A flower that grows in a heart-warming bower,
Its fragrance seeps into every pore of your being,
It imparts to your soul a new way of seeing,
It is the refuge to every lost soul,
It has the magic to make a truncated self whole,
It holds us all in its warm embrace,
It is the manifestation of God’s infinite grace,
It is the balm to every festering sore,
It is the anti-thesis of blood and gore,
It pulsates in a mother deer’s heart,
While she watches her fawns here and there dart,
It is reflected in a father’s tremulous pride
As he sees his child away to glory ride,
It is what lights up the beloved’s eyes,
When she sees her lover emerge from his beguiling guise,
It is what infuses a new life into a barren heart.
It is what makes one transcend every pettiness and wart,
It is the warm hand which every wayward wanderer does guide,
It is the very chariot that the Presence does ride,
It is what can douse the fires of hate,
It has the power to change the world’s trajectory and fate,
It has the power to so much us teach
That our manifest destiny can we reach,
And realise that to love we were born,
And be the celestial light that suffuses the sky every morn!
Let us of our hearts open the flood gates
So that we can transform every soul that sucks and hates,
Let us all get together to give love a chance,
And see every atom of creation perk up and dance!
