When the going gets tough,
When you hit a patch that is rough,
Your friends will be there to pull you through,
Of loving support they will offer a rich brew,
When darkness does your life envelope and mar,
They will be your guiding star,
When people for your pound of flesh bay,
They will out of the terrible mess find you a way,
They will always be your anchor,
As they never can hold against you any rancour,
They are God’s grace manifest on the earth,
Of their love for you there will never be any dearth,
Does it ever gratefully to you occur
That they are your real strength and succour,
In the turbulent sea of life they are your buoys,
They will never confront you with any whats and whys,
Their boundless love is yours for the asking,
So in their warm and cosy light keep basking,
Thank God for these guardian angels in your life
Which otherwise with umpteen troubles is rife,
Keep them pressed close to your heart
Because they accept you with your every quirk and wart,
There is really none who can them replace,
Your great good fortune to their glowing presence you can trace!
