A Point to Ponder

सोचो तो सलवटों से भरी है तमाम रूह 

देखो तो एक शिकन भी नहीं है लिबास पर

• शाकेब जलाली 

As the poet says above, many of us are so immaculately and impeccably dressed, often in branded clothes, if we can afford them, with not a wrinkle in sight. We make every attempt to look flawlessly smart and dapper. But ironically our inner being tells an entirely different story and we are seldom interested in that story in today’s world where outer appearances are all that we are bothered about. So many of us live double lives plagued by this sad duality and contradiction. Obviously when the outer garments are all aglow and wrinkle free but the soul is full of wrinkles, we can’t  be  happy and at peace with ourselves. So you see lot of unhappiness and violence  all around with depression and other mental health issues assuming epidemic proportions. We better watch out. The focus should be on developing a healthy core and nourishing our soul with truth, love and compassion. That is all that really matters! God bless everyone!
