I saw a man on a roll
Because he had no goal!
He had no baggage to carry,
For nothing was he going to tarry!
He was without any encumbrances,
In his way there were hardly any hinderances!
He was a man on the go,
Ready with life to flow!
He was a bird in swift flight
Because of everything he made light!
He had no possessions,
He was devoid of any obsessions!
He had no pretence
Because he only cared for life’s essence!
He had nothing to hide,
There was no reason for him his time to bide!
He had no feet of clay,
No base passions could him sway!
He lived every day as if there would be no other,
Oh! How he loved life, brother!
He would be one with the elements,
In the clear waters of his life, there were no life-choking sediments!
Then something jolted me out of my sleep,
And the loss of that creature of my dream made me almost weep!
