The pandemic so much havoc has wrought,
So many invaluable lessons it has us taught,
But have we learnt any is a question that is fraught!
Are we as a species ready to turn over a new leaf?
Have we been sufficiently chastened by our collective suffering and grief?
Has our insufferable ego really been cut down to size?
Have we secured from the scourge caring and sensitivity as a coveted prize?
Do we now realise that there is something much bigger that exists outside of us?
Have we learnt to accept in the larger scheme of things our humble place without any fuss?
Has all our much touted material progress really been worth it?
Are we, even if late in the day, ready to reconsider our stance a bit?
Have we now developed for nature a new found respect
Or our behaviour is still going to be egregious and suspect?
In short, are we even now going to mend our sordid ways?
If not, we would better count as numbered on this planet our days!

Was admitted for covid for a month….got second life…..lost my mom of Covid…..I just want you to know that it is not ego…..if some people want to go then let them go ……there is no ego……I have learnt this ……we have to lessen something from our lives…My age is 60yrsgot 4 days back

Sorry to know about your ordeal as well as about your mother’s demise. What this pandemic has done more than anything else is to cut our ego down to size. You are so right in saying that there is so much unnecessary baggage we need to shed. The pandemic has taught many of us this invaluable lesson. Take very good care of yourself and stay healthy and blessed.
